In addition to standard typography controls, Open Publisher includes specialised text fitting tools and a professional-grade custom colour picker for advanced design workflows.
Text Fit & Drop Cap
Two quick text formatting options are available by right-clicking any text box:

Text Fit: Best Fit: Right-click a text box and select Text Fit > Best Fit to automatically scale your font size up or down so the text fills the box exactly. Particularly useful for headings where you want the text to span the full width of the container without manual trial-and-error sizing.

Drop Cap: Right-click a text box and select Drop Cap to stylize the first letter of the paragraph as a large, decorative capital – a classic typographic technique used in newspapers and magazines.
Custom Color Picker
The custom color picker provides a professional-grade interface for precise colour selection, featuring a tabbed layout, an advanced gradient wheel, and smart editing fallbacks.

Tabbed Interface: Easily switch between standard pre-set “Swatches” and the advanced “Custom” color selection tools.

Professional Gradient Wheel: The Custom tab includes a fully functional 2D Saturation/Brightness canvas and a 1D Hue slider, mirroring the behavior of professional design software.

RGB and Hex Support: Fine-tune your colors using precise RGB number inputs alongside the standard Hex input. All inputs sync in real-time with the gradient picker.

Integrated Eyedropper: The Custom tab features an integrated eyedropper tool for sampling colors directly from your canvas. The interface is fully responsive, ensuring sliders and tools fit perfectly within the popup container.

Smart Undo Fallback: If you press Ctrl + Z while editing a text box and the browser’s native text undo history is empty, the application intelligently falls back to the main canvas undo function, ensuring your design actions are always safely reversed.
