Selective CORS Print Engine Normalization (v5.15.6)
Under strict Chromium browser security rules, setting crossOrigin = 'anonymous' unconditionally on local images or file protocol paths (such as file:/// or relative assets like elements/templates/files/santa_seal.png) can cause the browser to reject the asset, resulting in missing images on printouts or blank PDF exports.
Version 5.15.6 resolved this with a refined selective CORS pipeline:
- The
shouldApplyCors(url)Utility: Inspects asset sources dynamically during print spooling and canvas image baking. External HTTP/HTTPS URLs (such as online photo libraries) receive standard anonymous CORS headers, while local application assets, bundled template graphics, and data URIs load directly without triggering security denials. - Lightweight File Architecture: Multi-megabyte raw embedded template files were optimized into clean external PNG assets, shrinking template definitions from over 11 MB down to just 15 KB to 50 KB each for instantaneous canvas rendering.
- Interactive Box Containers: Graphic elements are wrapped in standardized interactive box containers (
isImageFallback: true), ensuring that clicking on any illustration allows easy repositioning, resizing, or layer reordering.
